ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITION FOR THE ITAIPU ECOPARK

Pre Launching of the Architecture Contest for the Itaipu EcoPark
A new leisure area for residents and tourists will be installed in the surroundings of Córrego Jupira, in a green area belonging to the binational company.

Itaipu Binacional, the Municipality of Foz do Iguaçu and the Institute of Architects of Brazil, Department of Paraná, will pre-launch a national public architectural and landscaping competition for the future Itaipu EcoPark.

The call for bids is expected to be published next January 2023.

The Ecopark will be installed in the green area of Itaipu, in the surroundings of Córrego Jupira, between Garibaldi, Andradina and Paraná avenues and the BR-277 highway. The space is surrounded by a 4,800-meter-long bicycle lane.

Architectural projects must be developed within the concept of technological solutions 5.0, aimed at the well-being of people and the preservation of the environment. Among the equipment planned for the site are free wi-fi, facial recognition, body temperature measurement, etc.

Observation towers, bridges and water features, as well as educational, sensory and cycling trails are also planned, offering different types of experiences for different audiences, such as seniors and people with disabilities.
