The Institute of Architects of Brazil will support the exhibition "SIZA AND OSCAR: BEYOND THE SEA".

Between September 7 and October 14, the Casa da Arquitectura, in the city of Matosinhos in Portugal, will host the exhibition Siza and Oscar: Beyond the Sea, unpublished by the award-winning Brazilian photographer José Roberto Bassul.
It is a visual dialogue between the architecture of Siza Vieira in Brazil and Oscar Niemeyer in Portugal. Siza has one work in Brazil, the Iber ê Camargo Foundation building in Porto Alegre. Oscar, in turn, also has a project built in Portugal, the Pestana Casino Park Hotel on Madeira Island.
Noting this coincidence, Bassul made an abstract dialogue between two of the greatest exponents of modernist architecture around the world.
The exhibition will take place at the Luis Ferreira Alves Space of Casa de Arquitectura, in Matosinhos. In the words of Portuguese curator, artist, teacher and researcher Angela Berlinde, "Bassul reveals a unique ability to tame opposing forces: power and simplicity, imposing and subtlety, public sense and intimacy, always driven by a force that is both emotional and transformative.
Wandering between the aesthetic, the poetic and the political - inspired by the legacies of Lygia Clark and Helio Oiticica - Bassul weaves in dialogue between lines and forms as if dancing in an imaginary world. His micro-poems reveal a lyrical aspect of the sometimes aggressive and exclusive atmosphere of the city. They demonstrate that, although aware of the imperfections of the world, there will always be room for us to live it poetically.
